"Underlying interest" is a concept that I have tried to teach to loan officers throughout the course of my career. Many Loan Officers apply the "order taker" mentality to mortgage lending. When a client contacts them to request a specific product, they just take the application and move forward with the request. My team is dedicated to an "Underlying Interest" approach to lending. We start by asking them what they want to accomplish with this loan request, and why they think the product they identified is the best option to meet their needs. We often identify a much better solution for their specific financing needs that they were unaware of.

I am certainly very proud of all the local and statewide awards I have received over my 30-year career in the mortgage industry. However, I take even more satisfaction from the number of repeat clients I have served who have returned to me whenever they had home-finance needs. There is no greater compliment than past clients who continue to refer their family and friends to me.

To provide the highest level of expertise and service to consumers I think it is important to stay involved in the industry and the community. Over the years, I have served on several boards and committees in the Real Estate, Mortgage, and Construction industries. I have also been asked to share my knowledge with the industry and have been invited to speak at Local, State, and National venues.

I am currently volunteering my time on the board of a large non-profit organization that runs 58 different programs throughout Northern and Central California. My work with this board has really raised my awareness of the needs of our senior community that are not being properly served by the mortgage lending industry. I have also noticed a significant increase in calls over the past couple of years from, or on behalf of, seniors who were looking for a safe place they could go for honest answers and feedback on products like Reverse Mortgages and other Senior-oriented home financing products.

As a result of my desire to better serve the needs of all my clients, including the unique needs of those who are 55 and above, I made the decision to move back to the broker platform.

I chose Empire Home Loans because I had the opportunity to serve on a board for several years with all three of the owners, so I know that they share my commitment to integrity, customer service, and dedication to the clients that we serve.

With expertise in all types of residential financing options, I can guide my clients to the most strategic product and structure to meet their needs. This includes FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Jumbo, Reverse Mortgages, Equity Lines, and Chattel loans.  In addition, I have an extensive background in Construction and Renovation products.
